Unemployment benefits are offered to members of the Fund as prescribed in section 35 of Public Service Social Security Fund Act No. 2 of 2018. A qualified member shall be entitled of this benefit as prescribed in Regulation 21(1).
Conditions for a member to qualify for this benefit are: -
For a member to be granted unemployment benefit, an employer has to submit duly filled application form PS – BEN.6 with the following attachment:
Qualified member shall be paid thirty-three per centum of salary on termination, shall be paid for a maximum period of six months within 12 months. Unemployment benefits will cease immediately when a member re employed. For members who have contributed to the Fund for a period less than 18 months shall be paid fifty percent (50%) of their total contributions.
